    Administrative history

    St. Matthew's United Church, located at 25 Holloway Street in Belleville, was established on August 1, 1995 with the amalgamation of Tabernacle United Church and Holloway Street United Church, both in Belleville. It is still an active congregation in the United Church of Canada. Tabernacle United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. The Tabernacle Methodist Church was established in 1810 and it joined the United Church in 1925. Holloway Street United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. Holloway Street Methodist Church was established circa 1873; in 1925 it joined the United Church of Canada.
