    Administrative history

    St. John's United Church, located at 175 Waterloo Street South in Stratford, was established in 1926, after the amalgamation of Trinity United Church and First United Church. The church amalgamated with Central United Church in Stratford in 2015 to form Avondale United Church.

    First United Church was established in 1925, formerly Presbyterian. The congregation comprised of former congregants of the Presbyterian Church that chose to break from their church at time of union. The church would shortly unite with Trinity United Church in 1926 to form St. John's United Church

    Trinity United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. The Methodist church was established in 1890 and formed part of Trinity Methodist Circuit. It joined the United Church of Canada in 1925 and shortly thereafter amalgamated with First United Church to from St. John's United Church.
