Ambrose Kent (1843-1926) originally from Lincolnshire, England, was a successful watch-maker and jeweller in Toronto at Ambrose Kent & Sons. He was also the Superintendent of the Trinity Methodist Sabbath School in Toronto for 21 years, retiring on May 28, 1912 (Trinity Methodist Church Sunday School Minutes, 1994.026L 1-9).

Fonds consists of an illuminated presentation manuscript presented to Kent on the celebration of his 17th year of presiding as Superintendent of the Trinity Methodist Sabbath School in Toronto. Designed and engrossed by A. H. Howard and presented March 2nd, 1909. Signed by staff.
