Previously described under Japan - Annaka - Schools - Niijima Gakuen - Students playing basketball Typewritten note on piece of paper attached to verso reads: Niijima Gakuen - Annaka; Boys playing basketball; Baseball is not the only game that is played in Japan. The boys of the school are practicing basketball in this picture. The gates in the background lead into a factory on the tract of land now bought for the school. Niijima Gakuen was founded by gifts of the Yuasa family, the leading family in Annaka for generations, about four years ago. School began in an old war-time factory building now used for the dormitory. The main building in the Swiss chalet style was completed a year ago. The new class room unit (eight rooms) has recently been completed. Mr. Yuasa has invested at least ¥5,000,000 in the enterprise.
