History
Bradford United Church, located at 66 Barrie Street in Bradford, was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. The Bradford Methodist Church officially opened in 1851, although there had been a Methodist presence in Bradford as early as 1834. The church was constructed at Lot 15, Concession 7, West Gwillimbury. It formed part of a Methodist circuit with Ebenzer Church in West Gwillimbury Township, Sutherland's Church in West Gwillimbury Township, Mount Pleasant Church in West Gwillimbury Township and Gilford. It joined the United Church of Canada in 1925 and formed part of a three-point pastoral charge with Ebenezer Church (until ca. 1927) and Holland Landing (until ca. 1988). Holland Landing United Church became a separate charge ca. 1989. Bradford United Church is no longer an active congregation of the United Church of Canada and closed ca. 2023.
