The Canadian Liturgical Society (CLS) was founded on November 24, 1969 as an organization seeking to promote the study and development of Christian worship through cooperative denominational work. Membership in CLS included individuals from the United, Anglican, Presbyterian, and Roman Catholic Churches. A primary component of the CLS was organizing annual conferences with ministers, lay professionals, academics, and the general public as well as seminary workshops.
