        History

        Cedarvale School for Girls, in Georgetown Ontario that was initially opened in 1923 as a home for Armenian child refugees. The Cedarvale School for Girls was closed on August 31, 1963, and turned over to the Board of Evangelism and Social Service to deal with as it saw fit. In the following years, It was sold to the town of Georgetown and the property and building of the school was their centennial project; a recreation centre was developed at the site.
