Institutionele geschiedenis
The Christian Work Camp Fellowship of Canada (CWCFC) was an ecumenical organization that functioned as a clearing house to encourage existing individuals and organizations to offer work camps, and promoted and sponsored these work camp and training programs. Events were offered as summer camps, work parties and weekend volunteer work. Hosting organizations for these work camps included Five Oaks Christian Workers Centre, Naramata Christian Training School, Prairie Christian Training Centre, Carleton Farm and Winterbrook Community Centre. Work camps were publicized through affiliated church organizations and groups such as C.G.I.T. and the Student Christian Movement. The CWCFC became inactive around the late 1950s, however, continued to disperse the last of its funds for work camp participants up to 1966. United Church staff involved in CWCFC included Beverly Oaten and Eunice Pyfrom.
