The Finnish Institute in Copper Cliff, Ontario, was the project of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, as part of its outreach activity to New Canadians in 'New Ontario'. In 1914 a Finnish Presbyterian Church was opened in the settlement, and social and educational work was undertaken amongst the Finnish miners and their families.
