Denbigh-Matawatchan-Schutt Pastoral Charge was formed in 1993 when Emmanuel Evangelical United Church, Schutt joined Denbigh-Matawatchan Pastoral Charge, which included St. Andrew’s United Church, Matawatchan and St. Luke’s United Church, Denbigh. It is still an active charge of the United Church of Canada.
Denbigh-Matawatchan Pastoral Charge was formed in 1945 when St. Andrew’s United Church joined Denbigh Pastoral Charge. The charge included Denbigh, Matawatchan, Wensley and Vennachar.
Denbigh-Plevna Pastoral Charge was established ca. 1931 with the amalgamation of Denbigh and Plevna Pastoral Charges; it included Denbigh, Plevna, Slate Falls, Vennachar, and Wensley
Denbigh Pastoral Charge was established in 1925, including Denbigh, Vennachar, Wensley, Rose Hill and Slate Falls. Wensley joined Plevna Pastoral Charge ca. 1928. Matawatchan was a point of the pastoral charge from 1928 to 1930, before leaving to create its own charge ca. 1931. Denbigh Pastoral Charge amalgamated with Plevna Pastoral Charge ca. 1931 to form Denbigh-Plevna Pastoral Charge.
Plevna Pastoral Charge was established in 1925, including Ompah, Canonto, Beech Corner, Wensley, Folger’s and Plevna; it amalgamated with Denbigh Pastoral Charge ca. 1931 to form Denbigh-Plevna Pastoral Charge. It re-formed as a separate charge in 1945, including Canonto, Ompah and Plevna.
St. Luke’s United Church, Matawatchan was established in 1925; formerly Presbyterian. From 1925 to 1928, it was a two point charge with Millar School. It joined Denbigh Pastoral Charge from 1928 to ca. 1931 before separating and creating its own one-point charge again.
St. Andrew’s United Church, Denbigh, was established in 1925; formerly Methodist and Presbyterian.
Vennachar United Church was established in 1925; formerly Methodist. It closed ca. 1952.
Wensley United Church was established in 1925; formerly Methodist. It closed ca. 1949.
Palmer Rapids Pastoral Charge was established in 1969, formerly Evangelical United Brethren. It included Calvary United Church, Palmer Rapids; Zion United Church, Rosenthal; and Emmanual Evangelical United Church, Schutt. It closed in 1993 when Emmanual United Church, Schutt joined Denbigh-Matawatchan Pastoral Charge.
Rockingham Mission was established in 1880, including Hagarty (now Killaloe), Sebastopol, Lyndock, Brudnell (now Rosenthal), Palmer Rapids, Palmer, Grossklags (now Schutt), and Luloffs (now Letterkenny); it became the Rosenthal Circuit.
