Biografie
Edward White was born in 1822 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up near St. Thomas, in Upper Canada, and was ordained by the Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1852. He worked on the Smithville circuit until 1858, when he and three other Wesleyan Methodists were chosen for missionary work in British Columbia. White served alternately in New Westminster and Nanaimo until 1871, when he returned to Ontario. He toured in Britain as an immigration agent for the Ontario government. He died of smallpox at Montreal, on his return trip in 1872.
