Elora Pastoral Charge includes Elora United Church and Bethany United Church, since 1950. Elora Methodist Church has roots as far back as 1835. The first worship services being held in a private residence. The first church building was built out of logs in 1845. In 1862 the land of the current building was purchased. The first worship held in the brick church at the current location was in 1863. In 1925, the church joined the United Church. Elora United Church, formerly Methodist, was established in 1925.
