Administrative history

Faith United Church in Toronto was established in 1969 upon the union of St. David's United Church and Earlscourt United Church. Faith United Church used the Earlscourt building, which was located at 90 Ascot Avenue, north and west of St. Clair Avenue West and Dufferin Street. The congregation closed in 1992.

St. David's United Church was established in 1925; formerly St. David's Presbyterian Church, which began as a mission in 1906 under the auspices of Westminster Presbyterian Church. In 1908, the first St. David's building was opened on St. Clair Avenue in what is now Earlscourt Park; in 1912, the building was moved a few blocks to 10 Harvie Avenue, just north of St. Clair and west of Dufferin. Between 1914 and 1918, a new building was constructed on the same site. In 1992, St. David's united with Earlscourt United Church to form Faith United Church in the Earlscourt building.

Earlscourt United Church was established in 1925; formerly Earlscourt Methodist Church, which began in 1905 as Boon Avenue Methodist Mission under the auspices of Westmoreland Methodist Church. In 1911, a church building was opened under the name Earlscourt; it was located at 90 Ascot Avenue, north and west of St. Clair and Dufferin. In 1992, Earlscourt united with St. David's United Church to form Faith United Church in the Earlscourt building.
