Series consists of records, primarily minutes, correspondence, financial statements, Board policies and forms, relating to Home Missions Committee and Division of Mission in Canada on a general level. Also included are the records of the conception, election, and constitution of the Vancouver Island Presbytery Officer. The majority of the records were created by the office of the Superintendent of Home Missions prior to the constitution of the Presbytery Officer.

One file from this series--Home Missions Committee (1980-1982)--was in the custody of Lloyd Hooper, a retired minister, for an indeterminate length of time. Possibly Mr. Hooper obtained custody of the the file during the transfer of the office from Leslie Clark to William Howie. Mr. Hooper did not likely add to the contents of the file.
