Biographical history
Harvard Petain (Pete) Collins was born into the Presbyterian Church, in Toronto, in 1918. He participated in the YMCA War Services in Estevan, Saskatchewan during the Second World War. From 1946 to 1951, he was Director of Christian Education at Ryerson United Church in Vancouver, and established the 13th Ryerson Troop (Cubs and Scouts). Collins attended Union College and was ordained by BC Conference in 1951. He served the church at Pioneer-Bralorne, Abbotsford, Rossland, and Haney. Throughout his ministry, he continued to provide leadership in the Scout Movement, and viewed this work as part of his ministry. From 1973 to 1983, he worked within the church's administration, first as Personnel Secretary for BC Conference, then as Ministry Personnel and Education Administrator for the General Council Office in Toronto. After retiring in 1983, he returned to British Columbia and continued to work for the church, including service on the Conference Communications Committee.

Arrangement
In some cases, Collins altered the original order of the slides when he produced scans during the 2007-2009 period. His final arrangement of slides has been maintained. Original arrangement can be reconstructed based on handwritten numbers on the slides, indicating an earlier numbering system.
