        History

Honeymoon Bay United Church has a very brief history. The church was formed in late 1952 to serve the Cowichan Lake community of Honeymoon Bay. The church operated with a student supply of ministers however it quickly became apparent that the congregation was not large enough to financially sustain the church. On December 7, 1956, the Cowichan Lake United Church made an offer of amalgamation to Honeymoon Bay United Church. The offer was accepted by the Honeymoon Bay Congregation on December 16, 1956 and a motion was unanimously passed that the Honeymoon Bay United Church charge be dissolved. The Sunday School at Honeymoon Bay continued to operate within the amalgamated Cowichan Lake Church.
