Series consists primarily of letters from Gladys to family and friends, describing in detail the couple's activities and aspects of their daily life in China. Series also includes personal correspondence between the couple.
Series relates to the couple's academic research and professional lives. Includes clinical notes, reports, and reprints of medical articles that were written by Dr. Edison Cunningham himself or other professionals in the field. Series also includes some of Dr. Gladys Cunningham's notes from her public addresses, a selected bibliography, and some copies of letters she wrote to other colleagues. Also included are a few letters of recommendation written by the two doctors, photographs of patients from China (mainly with eye diseases), and the financial records of their private practice in Vancouver.
