Freeman's writings and correspondence provide an expression of the attitudes and worldview of the missionaries in Northern B.C. during his career. The photographs are also informative, as an illustration of the relations between the Indigenous peoples and the church, and their relations with white missionaries and hospital staff in the region of Lax Kw’alaams (Port Simpson) in the early 1900s.
