General note
Organized under the auspices of the Young People's Forward Movement for Missions (YPFMM), the Methodist Young People's Summer School for the Study of the Bible and Missions aimed to train workers who would lead an organized effort to encourage prayerful, intelligent, and systematic giving to missionary work directed by the Methodist Church (Canada) General Board of Missions. Following the resounding success of first summer school held in 1901 at Victoria College, Toronto, summer schools were organized in every conference, and they became a recognized part of the mission study scheme of the YPFMM, even after union in the United Church of Canada in 1925.
