History
Established in 1818, as a Methodist Society in the settlement of Mimico. Islington Methodist Church, a small frame church was built around 1843, and in 1887 a new larger church was built on the south side of Dundas Street just east of Cordova Avenue, known as the "Red brick Church". The church became Islington United Church in 1925. In 1949, a new larger sanctuary was completed and in 1965 a Youth Centre, known later as Steward East Hall was built. Islington United Church is still an active congregation of The United Church. The church is located at 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Toronto.
