Biographical history
John Henry Getz (1913-1993) was a minister of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and a journalist. He was born in Killaloe, Ontario, was educated at the Normal School, North Bay and between 1930 and 1943 he taught school. He was ordained as a Evangelical United Brethren Church minister in 1951. He served various charges in Ontario. Getz also served as the EUB Canada Conference Historian and was editor-publisher of the denominational paper, The Canadian Evangel.

Scope and content
Fonds consists of historical material, including minutes and membership lists of the Evangelical United Brethren Mission in the Ottawa Valley [in German, with English translations], materials from the EUB Historical Council [US], photographs and pictures of EUB ministers and churches. There are administrative records of the EUB Canada Conference, including programmes from Annual Sessions, 1959-1964, minutes of the Council of Administration, 1959 and 1964, records relating to Parkwood Manor [retirement home in Hamilton], and ephemeral material, including bulletins, historical notes, and annual reports, for several EUB churches in Ontario. There are records of The Canadian Evangel, mostly subscription lists, as well as copies of publications from the American EUB church. There are also pamphlets, booklets and similar material for stewardship, Bible Study and Christian living.
