Biographical history

John Hunter Huston (d. 1851) was a Methodist minister and one of the founding members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Canada. He was born in Ireland and emigrated to Upper Canada sometime before 1924. Ordained in 1833, he was one of five disaffected preachers who broke away from the Wesleyan Methodist Church to form the Methodist Episcopal Church in Canada in 1834.

This material forms part of the General Council program of the United Church of Canada Archive.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of personal marriage register for London District and in Lambton and Kent Counties in the Western District, 1839-1851. Also includes Rev. Huston's accounts, the names of family members and several poems in newsclipping form.
