Administrative history
Knox United Church, located at 116 Kincardine Street in Embro, was established in 1925, formerly Presbyterian. The Presbyterians were active in Embro area as early as 1820; the Old Log Church was built east of Embro in 1832 and was used until 1837 when a church the Auld Kirk was built in Embro. The church on Kincardine Street, the current building, was built and opened on February 19, 1863. The church joined the United Church in Canada in 1925 and was named Knox United Church. It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.
