        History

        James Leslie McFadden (1926-1989) was a United Church minister who worked on the National Indian Commission and the Ontario Board of Parole. He was born in Arran Township and was ordained in 1954 in Hamilton, Ontario. He married Eleanor Elaine Cosens in 1954. He served various charges in Ontario and worked on the National Indian Commission in the mid-1950s. In 1967, he was appointed a parole officer in Wellington County, and later he went on to Sudbury as a Member of the Ontario Board of Parole.
