Biographical history
Murdoch MacKenzie (1858-1938) was a Presbyterian/United Church missionary to China. He was born in Scotland and studied for the ministry at McGill University and Presbyterian College, Montreal. In 1889, he went as a missionary to Honan, China, and worked there almost continuously until 1936. He acted as a leader in the National Council of China and the movement for a union of churches in China. He was elected Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Canada while on furlough in 1913.
