    Biographical history

The first worship service was held in the St. Helen's Park, West Townline District of Surrey, on January 30, 1955, with assistance from Cloverdale United Church. The congregation worshipped in St. Helen's Anglican Hall until they were able to complete a small Christian Education building on a newly acquired site at Oak Avenue, half a block west of Sandell Road, in October 1956. The congregation ended its relationship with Cloverdale and became a two-point charge with Sullivan Station United Church by July of 1958, with the Rev. Vernon E. McEachern as its first resident minister. After a year-long pledge campaign, a new church building was dedicated in June of 1959. Oak Avenue United Church, located at 127 102nd Ave. was the largest church in North Surrey to date when built. It disbanded in June 2007.
