Biographical history
Oliver Darwin was born in Yorkshire and came to Winnipeg in 1884, where he became a Methodist lay preacher. He was ordained in 1886 and served several charges in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. After serving as superintendent of missions in Manitoba and Saskatchewan from 1902 to 1923, he assumed the same position with the British Columbia Conference, where he served until 1937. His autobiography "Pioneering with Pioneers" was published in 1949.
