Picton United Church was established in 1925; formerly Methodist.
Picton Methodist Church had its origins in 1793, at which time a Methodist class was formed in Hallowell (later known as Picton). In 1820, the first Methodist church building was constructed in Picton. Originally Methodist Episcopal, it became Wesleyan in the 1830s. The church became known as First Methodist Church at about the time of the Methodist union of 1884, in order to distinguish it from Main Street Methodist Church (formerly Methodist Episcopal). In 1918, First Church and Main Street Church united and came to be known simply as Picton Methodist Church.

Fonds consists of records, including marriages, 1856-1868, 1896-1920, of Picton Methodist Church (also includes First Methodist Church in Picton), 1820-1927; records, including marriages 1896-1918, of Main Street Methodist Church in Picton, 1880-1918; and records, including baptisms, 1900-1939, 1952-1988, marriages, 1901-1991, 2006-2014, and burials, 1900-1977, 1999-2013, of Picton United Church (includes Picton Methodist Church and Main Street Methodist Church), 1881-2016.
