Administrative history

Riverside-Emery United was established in January 1970 with the amalgmation of Riverside United Church and Emery United Church and used the Riverside building. The church building was destroyed by arson in 1979, and a new building was opened in 1980. It was located at 2799 Weston Road, just north of Wilson Avenue. The church disbanded on June 30, 2014.

Riverside United Church was established in 1951, with services initially offered in temporary and shared locations. A new church was built and dedicated in 1957.

Emery United Church was begun in 1960 with services initially offered in Daystrom Public School in the town of Weston. A site at 3550 Weston Road was purchased in that same year, and in 1964 the Constituting Service was held in a portable building on that site. The congregation almalgamated with Riverside Church in January, 1970, forming Riverside-Emery United.
