St. Francis United Church was initiated as a ministry (or mission), when Walter Beecham began seeking new members for a congregation from his office above a pizza parlour in a Scarborough strip mall. While the resulting congregation was constituted as a church by the United Church in 1982, it never acquired a building, meeting instead in a local school, Sir Samuel Steele at 131 Huntsmill Blvd. In 1989 the congregation was disbanded.

Fonds consists of records, including baptisms, 1982-1988, marriages, 1982-1989, and burials, 1983-1989, of St. Francis United Church (includes St. Francis Ministry), 1978-1989.
