Takashi Komiyama was born in Vancouver and educated at UBC and Union College. He was active in the B.C. Young People's Christian Conference, an organization of young Japanese Canadians. He was ordained in 1942 and served the Japanese-Canadian mission of the United Church in the internment camps at Lemon Creek, New Denver, and the Slocan Valley. He also served Japanese United Churches in Vancouver, Montreal, and Hamilton.

小宮山孝はバンクーバー出身の牧師。ブリティシュコロンビア大学(英: University of British Columbia)とユニオン大学(英:Union College)卒業し、日系カナダ人の青年を対象としたB.C.キリスト教青年総会(英:B.C. Young People’s Christian Conference) に活発に参加ていたとされる。1942年に牧師に叙階された後、レモンクリーク (英: Lemon Creek) 、ニューデンバー (英: New Denver) 、スローカンバレー (英: Slocan Valley) の強制収容所へ合同教会の一員として派遣される。また、バンクーバー、モントリオール、ハミルトンの日系人合同教会においても牧師として活動した。

Fonds consists of three record series: Church-related records (1938-1946); Reference materials (1942-1963); and Community advisor records (1944). Record types include reports, lectures, clippings, and memorabilia, primarily concerning the treatment of Japanese Canadians during World War II.
