    Biographical history

    Violet Bertha Keenleyside was born in 1911. She worked with her husband, the Rev. George Keenleyside, on the Central Mainland Marine Mission for the United Church of Canada, from 1970 to 1973. In her later years, she wrote a book of tribute to missionary women of the west coast, entitled They Also Came (1987). Keenleyside died in 1987 in Duncan, B.C.

    Fonds consists of four record series relating to Keenleyside's research for They Also Came: Subject files ([1970?]-1984); Biographical files ([192-?]-1987); Photographs (1946-[1986?]); and Audio recordings ([197-?]).
